Face painting fun!
Today, as I mentioned last night I was face painting at a little boys adoption party, it was a lovely do, despite me having not met him or his mother before. It was very emotive and the speeches brought a little tear to my eye! I was really worried that the face paints wouldn't go on very well as they were really sticky, and although I wasn't hugely pleased with the results everybody else seemed to be.. which is of course all that matters. I wish I could share some photo's with you, but I didn't take any as the two girls I did know and who's parents were happy for me to share the photo's on here ran away when i got the camera out! :P I should probably get back to revision now.... but we all know that isn't going to happen, so I'll be honest - I'm going on facebook now, so I'm sorry this post is short, but other things are calling!

Oh what a lovely evening.....
Well... where to begin, tonight I went to a lovely (extremely late) Christmas party :) It was for the performing arts group that I go to where I learn circus skills and dance. We purposely have it very late because there is always such a lot going on in December. I did bake cakes to take along... however by the time I woke up this morning I didn't have time to decorate them all so took along some shop bought ones... bad me! Here's what I would have taken along...
But of course busy me had lots of other things to do..... like wrapping up the secret santa gift that I bought for a special young lady :)
The party was absolutely lovely and I saw friends there that I hadn't seen for such a long time (one of them is at uni) and I saw Sue from crafts@home there too! ..... I also recieved my certificate, a card and some lovely earings for passing my bronze arts award! :D
The secret santa gift I recieved was absolutely beautiful and here is a photo of me wearing it!
Sally bought me a present too... oh I am spoilt! It was this gorgeous little necklace (sorry about the flash).
Towards the end of the night I was also offered a cleaning job... which absolutely made my day as I've been looking for work for so long now with no luck..... but I think this one will be excellent and I can't wait to start! Oh also... I may have sorted out a coaching course in Derby too ;) just waiting to hear about it all, hopefully the council will do something good for once and give me a grant so that I can definitely do it! Anyway, I must be off as I also have a busy day tomorrow as I am face-painting at a little boys adoption party! :D

Lesson learnt
Last night I got an e-mail saying that the womens artistic coaching course (gymnastics) I had applied for was fully subscribed, I was so sure I'd got in, in fact so sure that I was basing a lot of my ideas of future careers on that course! So today's lesson is not to start planning or getting your hopes up for things before you are absolutely certain that they are going ahead... So today's mission is to convince the head coach of the branch I volunteer at to put me on another one :-p although that probably won't be until the Autumn... but oh well eh? Gives me a chance to focus on other things for now......
Like that revision.....
I was actually quite productive and managed to complete two posters full of sociologists and what they said etc etc etc..... not very exciting is it? But it is a huge acheivement considering I had this gorgeous girly trying to distract me...
.....and make me play games :-p
So that's what I've been doing all day... a little bit of revision, lots of playing with the dog and just a little bit of purely procrastinational knitting...
I love knitting, it's so relaxing, and of course, helps me to do just that little bit less revision :p I will learn of course... when I get my exam results back; that the dog and knitting just don't help things to stay in my brain!

A little bit about me.
Where do I begin? My name is Syan :-) that feels like a nice, friendly start now doesn't it? I thought that after all these years of reading other peoples blog's it was about time I started my own!
I thought I'd start it as it's the start of a new year... the year of the olympics! Not that anybody seems to care! It's also a year I know I'm never going to forget, possibly because I've made some huge desicions, some good, some bad, some I don't yet know the outcome of... but my resolution this year... as the title of my blog suggests, is to 'learn on my feet'. I had thought, back in September, that I had my life mapped out; go to college, then uni, become a midwife, get married, buy a house, have kids.... the list goes on (don't they all!) but it turns out that life can't have blueprints, some bugger could have told me before now! So this year, I'm going to attempt to take things in my stride, follow my heart, and hope to god that I don't end up in the gutter..... One thing my heart is telling me to do is to quit my A-levels and get stuck into something I'm passionate about, and actually want to pursue and get stuck in to, but here comes my first slip up.... my head is telling me no and at the moment I'm listening to that! So hopefully, despite me already contradicting what I promised myself I'd do, going to college and getting three AS-levels in subjects that don't feel like they have any input in the direction of my life will assist me in learning on my feet! :-p
I thought I'd start it as it's the start of a new year... the year of the olympics!
